"Do you have a desire to grow in your walk with God? If so, are you prepared to actively and purposefully live a dead-to-sin lifestyle? Living in tune with the Holy Spirit requires denying self in order to claim victory in our normal lives. God, in His mercy, provided the Scriptures for the sake of revealing Himself to us. The goal of Meditate & Declare is to empower believers so we can all begin to be more Christ-like and to impact our world the way that Jesus intended.Seven of the Apostle Paul’s books are expounded in Meditate & Declare, to provide a basis for effective Christian meditation and declaration. Paul spent years in Arabia, learning of the Lord BEFORE he ever consulted with any other Christian. This highlights the fact God intends that we learn of Him, through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Potential error crops up when believers don’t educate themselves in the acceptable biblical form of reading and meditating on the scriptures. The dictionary defines meditation as ‘continued or extended thought; reflection; contemplation.’ The author’s desire is to reject all worldly forms of meditation and go back to what was originally intended. For many of today’s Christians, meditation is frequently dismissed as an evil – the author brings us back to the reality. Satan can only twist the truth - there really is a practical and expected form of meditating on the gospels.
The format in each of the chapters is to include an important passage or concept that Apostle Paul addressed. Provided for you are scriptures to meditate on and declarations to begin to declare over your life and the lives of those in your sphere of influence. The hope of the author is that you will learn by example how to extrapolate key concepts from the Word of God and begin to meditate on those concepts. Then you can actively and boldly in faith "speak those things that are not as though they were" (Romans 4:17) and fully believe that God, who spoke the universe into existence, will begin to move in, for, and through you to utilize your life for His Glory, and for your peace of mind.
Excerpt
What exactly does it mean to decree or declare a thing? To declare means “to state officially, formally, or authoritatively.” Wow! How different would your life be if you began, with authority, to state the Word of God and all the promises in it over your life or situation? A decree is an “authoritative order or edict.” It is also a judgment of a court, meaning to ordain, establish, or decide something.” Again we see the word, “authoritative,” which is not a wimpy word; no, that is a forceful declaration because you know Whose Power is behind what you are saying. It is time for the Church of God to begin to use its voice, the one God put within us to speak forth into this earth the will of God. The Lord’s Prayer reflects this when it says, “your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10b). Really ponder that for a moment.
